BAPTISM
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19 (NIV)
Baptism is an outward sign of an inward grace. The act of baptism does not save us, but we do it to show the world that we are saved and not ashamed.
Here, at Cypress, we baptize by immersion. As you go under the water, your former life without Christ is dead and buried. When you are brought up from the water, you are raised to new life in the spirit. The water also represents the washing of our sins.
The believers' baptisms originally scheduled for the weekend of March 20 and 21 have been postponed. The new dates have not yet been determined; however, be watching this space for an update.
All adults, all teens, and any 5th graders who have completed the catechism class, are welcome to participate in this service. Those being baptized are required to attend an informational meeting prior to the baptism weekend. More details will be provided (regarding time and location) upon receiving your registration.
If you have questions concerning baptism, call the church office, ext. 225, and talk to Debbie Brisentine. You may also click here to sign up for the service. .
