ABUNDANCE FUND (supporting critical financial concerns)

"Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it . . . "      Matthew 6:1-2a (NIV)

A young Wesleyan pastor from Michigan, on vacation with his family, was paralyzed after diving into water and hitting his head on a coral reef.  Cypress was able to contribute to the fund established by his local church to provide financial support for his wife and children.

This past winter, a Cypress attendee asked if we could help with the purchase of a new furnace for a family living close to the church.  We were able to combine our resources, with the individual making the request, and the new furnace was installed.

A young man died suddenly and his wife was left without insurance to cover the funeral expenses.  This man's cousin, a Cypress attendee, asked if we could help.  We made a donation to be applied to the bill.

These are just three examples of how the Abundance Fund works.  We help those in need - people who "show up at our doorstep" and folks who attend Cypress on a regular basis.  Other Cypress members and attendees will tell us about situations affecting "our own".  It's difficult to ask for help sometimes.

Can Cypress help?  It is only possible with your involvement.  Please consider a gift to our Abundance Fund so we can continue to answer Christ's call to compassion.  Simply mark your envelope abundance.  May God bless you!
